Equipment

  • Large pot for boiling pasta
  • Frying pan (for steak and sauce)
  • Tongs (for flipping steak)
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients
  

  • For the Pasta and Sauce:
  • 150 g dry pasta pappardelle or your favorite
  • 1 thinly sliced onion
  • 100 g mushrooms sliced
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 30 g Philadelphia lightest
  • 2 tbsp reduced-fat cream
  • For the Steak:
  • 2 fillet steaks
  • Steak seasoning your favorite blend

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Cook the Steak. Season both sides of the steaks with your preferred steak seasoning. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and cook the steaks for 3.5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust to your preferred doneness). Once done, set aside and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  • Step 2: Cook the Pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve about 2 ladlefuls of pasta water before draining.
  • Step 3: Prepare the Sauce. In the same pan you used for the steak, add a bit of oil if needed and sauté the sliced onion and mushrooms until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Step 4: Add the Sauce Ingredients. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and black pepper. Add the reserved pasta water to the pan and let it reduce slightly. Stir in the Philadelphia cheese and cream, mixing until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 5: Combine the Pasta and Sauce. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss until well coated. Let it simmer for a minute to allow the flavors to combine.
  • Step 6: Serve with Steak. Plate the creamy pasta and top with the sliced steak. Sprinkle with parsley for a fresh finish. Serve warm with a side of tenderstem broccoli and green beans.

  • Save Enough Pasta Water: The starchy water helps create a silky, cohesive sauce.
  • Cook Pasta Al Dente: Slightly firm pasta works best as it holds up better when mixed with the sauce.
