Equipment

  • Bowl for mixing
  • Fork (for mixing the tuna)
  • Air fryer or toaster oven
  • Spoon or spatula (for spreading the tuna mix)

Ingredients

  • 1 can of tuna drained
  • 15 g light mayonnaise
  • 20 g fat-free Greek yogurt
  • 20 g sweetcorn
  • Diced red onion to taste
  • 2-3 chopped jalapeños
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Diced gherkins to taste
  • 1-2 slices of bread your choice
  • Cheese enough to cover the bread

Instructions

  • Step 1: Make the Tuna Mix. In a bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, sweetcorn, diced red onion, chopped jalapeños, black pepper, and diced gherkins. Use a fork to mix everything together until well combined.
  • Step 2: Assemble the Tuna Melt. Spread the tuna mixture evenly on a slice of bread. Top it with a layer of cheese.
  • Step 3: Cook. Place the assembled tuna melt in your air fryer. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for about 5 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.
  • Step 4: Serve. Carefully remove from the air fryer and enjoy hot!

Notes

  • Drain the Tuna Well: Removing excess liquid ensures the mix isn’t soggy.
  • Watch the Air Fryer: Keep an eye on the toast to prevent burning, as cooking times may vary.
  • Balance the Flavors: Adjust the amount of jalapeños and gherkins to suit your spice and tang preferences.
