Equipment

  • Large frying pan or skillet
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Mixing bowl for the mayo
  • Knife and chopping board (for optional toppings)

Ingredients

  • For the Turkey:
  • 500 g 5% turkey mince
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tbsp crushed garlic
  • Pinch of ginger
  • For the Spicy Mayo:
  • 30 g light mayo
  • 10 g sriracha
  • For Serving:
  • Rice optional
  • Steamed broccoli
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds green onions

Instructions

  • Cook the Turkey
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the turkey mince and cook until it starts to brown, stirring occasionally to break it into small pieces.
Once the turkey is cooked, add the soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, crushed garlic, and ginger. Stir everything together, allowing the flavors to blend for 2-3 minutes.
  • Prepare the Mayo
In a small bowl, mix the light mayo with the sriracha. Adjust the spice level to your liking by adding more sriracha if needed.
  • Assemble the Bowls
Divide the cooked turkey evenly into three portions.
Serve each portion over a bed of rice and steamed broccoli.
Drizzle the spicy mayo over the top or serve it on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the turkey: Turkey mince can dry out if overcooked. Once it’s browned and fully cooked, turn down the heat and add the sauce immediately.
  • Adjust spice to your taste: If you’re not a fan of too much heat, start with less chili garlic sauce and sriracha, then increase gradually.
  • Prep in advance: Cook the turkey and rice ahead of time for quick and easy assembly during the week.
