Equipment

  • Frying pan
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Spatula
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • For the Mince:
  • 250 g beef mince
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • Splash of water
  • For the Cheese Sauce:
  • 4 lighter cheesy slices
  • Splash of milk
  • For Assembly and Toppings:
  • 2 large tortillas
  • 2 small tortillas
  • 10 g tortilla chips
  • Chopped lettuce
  • Salsa to taste
  • 20 g reduced-fat grated cheese

Instructions

  • Step 1: Cook the Mince. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and cook the beef mince until it starts to brown. Add the taco seasoning and a splash of water. Stir well and continue cooking until the beef is fully cooked through.
  • Step 2: Make the Cheese Sauce. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the lighter cheesy slices with a splash of milk for about 30 seconds. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Crunch Wraps. Lay a large tortilla flat. Spread a layer of cheese sauce in the center. Add a scoop of the cooked beef mince, some tortilla chips, chopped lettuce, salsa, and grated cheese. Place a small tortilla on top of the filling, then fold the edges of the large tortilla over to completely enclose the filling.
  • Step 4: Toast the Wraps. Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Place the folded wrap seam-side down and toast for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Flip and toast the other side for another 2 minutes.
  • Step 5: Serve. Slice the wraps in half and serve with a fresh side salad.

Notes

  • Don’t Overfill the Wrap: Too much filling can make it hard to fold and may cause it to leak while toasting.
  • Toast on Medium Heat: Cooking too fast on high heat can burn the tortilla before it gets crispy.
  • Seal Tightly: Make sure the edges are fully folded to prevent the filling from spilling out.
