Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Blender or food processor
  • Measuring cups
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Serving bowls or cups
  • Refrigerator (for chilling)

Ingredients

  • 1 + 1/2 cups 260g dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup boiled rice * leftover rice works great!
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • Cocoa powder for dusting on top

Instructions

  • Melt the Chocolate: First, take your dark chocolate and place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat it in 30-second bursts, stirring well each time, until the chocolate is fully melted.
  • Blend Everything: In a blender, add your cooked rice, half a cup of hot water, and the melted chocolate. Blend until the mixture looks smooth and velvety.
  • Chill the Mousse: Pour your chocolate-rice mixture into a bowl or into individual serving cups. Place it in the refrigerator for 2 hours. This helps the mousse set and become thick.
  • Finish & Serve: Once the mousse is nice and firm, dust the top with cocoa powder and enjoy!

Notes

  • Don’t Overheat Your Chocolate: Heating chocolate for too long in the microwave can burn it. Stir often to keep it smooth.
  • Check Blender Capacity: Make sure your blender can handle hot liquids safely. If not, let the mixture cool a bit first.
  • Don’t Skip the Chill: The mousse sets as it cools. If you skip or shorten the chill time, the mousse might be runny.
