Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Frying pan
  • Air fryer (optional)
  • Baking tray
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Brush or spoon (for spreading garlic butter)

Ingredients

  • For the Chicken:
  • 200 g chicken breast
  • 10 g Parmesan grated
  • 20 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp garlic granules
  • 2 tsp onion granules
  • 2 tsp parsley
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Salt and pepper
  • For the Garlic Butter:
  • 20 g butter softened
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp garlic granules
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • For the Subs:
  • 2 ciabatta rolls
  • 3-4 tbsp Caesar dressing
  • Romaine lettuce chopped
  • 4 slices streaky bacon cooked until crispy
  • Extra Parmesan for topping

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prep the Chicken. Butterfly the chicken breasts and cut them into thin fillets. Season with salt and pepper. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic granules, onion granules, and parsley. Dip each chicken piece into the beaten egg, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Step 2: Cook the Chicken. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and cook the chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden. Finish in an air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes or until fully cooked.
  • Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with parsley, garlic granules, garlic paste, and black pepper.
  • Step 4: Prep the Ciabatta. Slice the ciabatta rolls in half. Spread the garlic butter on the inside and outside of each roll. Place the rolls on a baking tray and bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes until crispy and golden.
  • Step 5: Assemble the Subs. Spread Caesar dressing on the bottom half of each roll. Layer with crispy lettuce, a piece of crispy chicken, a slice of bacon, and a sprinkle of fresh Parmesan. Add the top half of the roll and serve warm.

Notes

  • Don’t Overcook the Chicken: Thinly sliced chicken cooks quickly, so keep an eye on it to prevent drying out.
  • Toast the Rolls Carefully: Watch the ciabatta in the oven to make sure it doesn’t burn.
  • Balance the Sauce: Use Caesar dressing sparingly to avoid overpowering the other flavors.
