Equipment

  • Skewers (soaked in water if using wooden ones)
  • Mixing bowls
  • Air fryer or grill
  • Tongs for turning skewers
  • Basting brush (for sauce)

Ingredients

  • For the Chicken:
  • 650 g chicken breast
  • 1 tsp onion granules or powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic granules
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • For the Bang Bang Sauce:
  • 60 g light mayonnaise
  • 4 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken.
Cut the chicken into thin, even strips. This ensures the chicken cooks quickly and evenly.
In a bowl, combine the chicken strips with onion granules, paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic granules, dried parsley, and oil. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly with the seasonings. Let the chicken marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Thread and Cook.
Thread the marinated chicken strips onto skewers. Preheat your air fryer to 190°C (375°F) on the grill setting, or prepare your grill.
Cook the skewers in the air fryer or on the grill for 10 minutes. Turn them over and cook for another 10 minutes until the chicken is golden and fully cooked.
  • Make the Bang Bang Sauce.
In a small bowl, mix together light mayo, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Stir until smooth.
  • Sauce the Skewers.
Brush the cooked chicken skewers generously with the bang bang sauce. If desired, save some sauce for dipping.
  • Serve and Enjoy.
Serve the skewers with crispy potato wedges, a fresh salad, or any of your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Even Chicken Strips: Cutting the chicken into even pieces ensures uniform cooking.
  • Soak Wooden Skewers: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 15 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Adjust Sauce Spice: If you prefer milder heat, reduce the sriracha in the sauce.
